On Wednesday, February 23 at 12pm (EST), YourPennyWins will be launching an interactive game called PennyTown. The concept is based on a Monopoly board and the traditional Monopoly goal of owning the most valuable imaginary properties.

This is a creative initiative on the part of YourPennyWins.com, and we want to see bidders take advantage of this unique opportunity. Here are the PennyTown rules and objectives:

There are 36 “Properties” listed on the board that will be auctioned off. 12 auctions will end from 11:00am – 2:45pm EST and 24 will end from 6:00pm – 11:45pm EST every 15 minutes

Bid Butlers can not be used

Win Limits: 6
*Win Limits for regular YourPennyWins.com will not be considered

There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Each “property” has a “value” as listed on the board. The person with the highest “value” of “property” will win 1st place, the next 2nd place and the next 3rd place.

In the event there is a tie of “value” for a winning position, the user with the most “properties” will win that position. In the event the tied users for a winning position have the same “value” and number of “properties” then the user to have won the latest auction in the day (between the tied users) will win that position

If you bid/participate in PennyTown! and do not win ANY property, you will receive 10 FREE Bids for YourPennyWins.com. If you bid/participate and win a property, no FREE Bids will be given.

1st Prize – Apple iPad 16gb
2nd Prize – $175 Amazon E-Card
3rd Prize – 100 Bids and $25 Amazon E-Card

If you are unable to participate in the first day of PennyTown, don’t be too disappointed. PennyTown will run once a month, on a specific day. Make sure you subscribe to YourPennyWins emails to be notified.

Pricebenders™ is the new penny auction in making. They reached us for informing about their new service.

Actually they are not new in auction game. They run the popular auction site TripleClicks.com and both services (TripleClicks.com and Pricebenders™) are owned by Carson Services Inc.

They call their bid packs "TCredits" and they will be available in size of 1, 3, 12, 50 and 250 for as little as $0.19 USD (Just 19 cents). Sounds pretty interesting .. huh?

Well, that's not all. Did we mention they are owners of TuneFlow™ as well. So here is another good news. With Pricebenders™, even when you don't win the auction, you still win! Because for every three bids, you earn one free song from the TuneFlow™ Music Store.

I am sure by now, you must be extremely excited about this new penny auction .. so are we!!

Are you one of the buyers (or sellers) who likes to keep an eye on eBay listings through the "Watched Items" list? After receiving a number of letters from readers asking about the limits eBay places on Watched Items, we checked in with eBay to find out if anything had changed.

eBay spokesperson Johnna Hoff said eBay increased the number of watched items to 200 from 100 in 2009. She referred me to the eBay help page. "We made the change after receiving ongoing requests from customers," she said.

However, customers can actually store more than 10,000 unique items, Hoff said, if they use eBay's user-created lists. "In the past we received a number of requests to categorize the watch list, so in January 2009 we made it possible for customers to create 50 lists that can each contain up to 200 items."

When you click on the "Add to Watch List" pull-down menu on an item page, you can select "add to a new list" and create a custom watch-list, such as "jewelry," that can contain up to 200 listings.

To access the watched items, go into the Watch List area in My eBay, where you'll find a pull-down menu called "Choose a list" at the top of the page, where your "jewelry" or other lists will appear.

All those closely watching and associated with penny auction industry must be aware of the "Entertainment Auction Association". Entertainment Auction Association was founded by three "Big Daddy" of penny auction industry - BigDeal, Swoopo and BidCactus

For the benefit of those, who are still unclear about Entertainment Auction Association and interested in knowing what Entertainment Auction Association is all about, we had a chance to talk with BigDeal CEO, Nicolas Darveau. Below are the excerpts from the interview.

Bid2loot: What was the main motivation behind "Entertainment Auction Association"?

Nicolas: To help consumers distinguish the good players from the bad players in the industry.

Bid2loot: Who all are involved in this and what is the role of BigDeal?

Nicolas: Bidcactus, Swoopo and BigDeal founded the Association but we are heavily recruiting other sites to join right now. BigDeal is a member of the association and will be very active in recruiting new members and helping to create a long-lasting industry.

Bid2loot: How do you think "Entertainment Auction Association" is going to benefit penny auction users and firms running penny auctions? Should small penny auction sites be worried about this?

Nicolas: We welcome sites of all sizes. Any site that is running a legitimate business and can prove it through a third party audit is welcome to join. The benefit for sites is that they can post a clear “sign of approval” from a neutral third party for their users.

Bid2loot: What is the process if anyone (penny auction user and penny auction owners) want to get involved in this? Are there any fees associated?

Nicolas: Any site can go to the website and apply. There is a $5000 per year fee to join.

Bid2loot: Is "Entertainment Auction Association" associated with any government/legal entities? If yes, can you please share the details and role of those entities?

Nicolas: No

Bid2loot: We noticed that BigDeal and Swoopo are still shown in "Pending Auction" state and only Bidcactus is shown as "Approved". Why is that?

Nicolas: Bidcactus has gone through its audit already while we are going through it right now. Once BigDeal is audited it will be an approved member.

Bid2loot: Who carry out the audit process and validates? How does "Entertainment Auction Association" ensure that the penny auction has been audited correctly and there are no chances of errors? If only BigDeal, Swoopo and Bidcactus do this then there are chances of unfair advantage to them, isn't so?

Nicolas: We have found a neutral third party audit firm that will conduct the same audit for all sites.

After talking to Nicolas, we feel that the future of penny auction is bright and best part is that there is a strong reason for penny auction lovers to be happy since they will get to know which penny auctions they can count on.

Three cheers to Entertainment Auction Association !!!
